This is the first mission! My first time working on a program that went to Mars.

A decision was made to use retro rockets to land and not the impact inflatable attenuation system (bouncy balls) to land on Mars.

Spirit and Opportunity were the first Mars programs that I was project manager.

At this point I had been promoted out of being a program manager. Someone else did the managing for the Scout Phoenix.

I even signed my name on the parachute. So that when it lands a small esoteric part of me will have made it to Mars.

Mars Express was our first program with the Europeans Space Agency and their first Mars Project.

My job duties were to win the program. I delivered the program to my company and help out where I can.
