The Red Planet and Outer Space

The environments that we design for are big challenges full of unknowns added to assumptions tied together by past experiences. With each new mission the unknowns and assumptions grow smaller.

Mars is the fourth planet of our solar system. It has always held a fascination with mankind. There has been a push to get there after we landed on the moon. It was of great excitement to me to be part of that.

Mars is challenging because it so different from earth and takes so long to get there. We not only have to plan for our parts of the system to work in the environment of Mars but also in deep space.

Deep Space has an ability to create havoc on equipment if you are not careful.
